New baby sibling!

Eliza is getting a new sibling! It was so funny yesterday when we showed her the ultra sound picture she clapped, then she cried because she wanted to hold the picture for about 30 minutes.
I thinks she loves the baby already.

Eliza is so funny now! She wrinkles her nose and giggles.
She can get into the crawling position with help but she can't do anything with it.

Eliza and Mamaw with the sunglasses she baught Eliza to take to the beach. Eliza was not a fan really. She took them off several times.

She misses her Daddy so bad! She thinks the computer ate him. She looks at the lap top all the time and says "DaDa" over and over again. Only 2 more days. I think I miss him more than she does.

Daddy's in England

So tonight Eliza and I had a girl's night, but she didn't quite get that it was supposed to be fun.... I tried and tried and tried to get her to go to sleep. I laid her down like we usually do and she screamed until I was sure she was going to hyperventilate. Then I rocked her, sang to her, petted her, laid down with her, gave her more of a bottle, prayed over her, and she just would not go to sleep. I started this at 7:45 becuase mamaw and grandaddy said she had not taken good naps today, so she was tired. And now it is 10:15 and I just got her to sleep with the help of her fish aquarium. I am exhausted. You know last year when Ted went to England, Elvis, our dog lost his mind and would not sleep for five stinkin' weeks and this year I think Eliza is going to follow in his foot steps.

Needless to say, I miss Ted already. It is odd how much person becomes essential to your life and then when they are absent it feels like you are trying to do everything with your nondominant hand.

Of course, all of you probably know that I am a wife who is very taken care of and has very little to worry about in terms of our home on a daily basis. I honestly just tried to figure out if I could make it until my momma comes on Thursday night with out doing laundry. I am most certainly spoiled. It is almost embarassing. (Ted don't worry, my plan is to do it tomorrow.)

Easter

Eliza had a very good Easter. She recieved 7 different easter baskets/ gifts! Thanks to Mammaw Teresa, Nell, Gracie, Nana Mona and Pap paw Patton, Aunt Janet, Mam maw and Grand daddy, The Smith's, and Uncle Aaron and Aunt Katie!

Eliza is brilliant!

Okay so I know I am biased....... but my child learned a new skill on her way to see her cousins in Louisville this week end! I am pretty sure that she is advanced.

Eliza Entertaining Herself

So Eliza loves to make noise just like her momma and daddy. This is one of her favorite new noises. We think that it is cute and charming as long as she doesn't do it when she is eating!

6 month pictures

Well we met with the amazing Julie Roberts yesterday and she has worked her magic once again! Eliza used up some of her smiles on Bailey and Sadie, Julie's dogs. All in all she was pretty smiley except for when we desperately wanted her to smile. At one point she was in the middle of a bunch of beautiful red tulips and she was so amazed by the tulips we could hardly get her to look up, much less smile. We tried everything including asking strangers to bring thier baby over so she would smile, no luck. Julie got some great pictures though, like I said she is amazing. Here is a teaser, Julie thinks her full preview will be up tomorrow or tuesday. I am so excited about the ones we have so far.

bringing joy....

So today was a beautiful day! Since, I found out that I was pregnant with Eliza I have prayed that she would be an extension of God's love in this world. I know that she has already shown a great deal to me about God's love. Today I got to see her share joy with a group of people that need reminded that they have value and worth. I have been working a lot at the nursing home lately and it is helpful to us financially but, even more it allows me to be with the least of these. So today when I was driving to the nursing home and it was a beautiful day, I called Ted and asked if he would bring Eliza on a walk to the nursing home. My wonderful husband agreed to bring her to see me and my lovely friends!
I wish you could have seen the faces of those sweet people when they saw our little girl! Even more I wish you could have seen her face! She was grinning at them, most all of them. She was giving away all kinds of joy and love through her little 2 teeth grin! I can not even begin to tell you how amazing it was to me to watch such a gift. This is a picture of her this evening after I got home still grinning and showing off her little teeth!

a new way to keep up with our little bug

Since Eliza gets so much attention on her Daddy's blog, I thought it was time for her to get a blog of her very own. So here goes!

This is Eliza with her two favorite friends, Maybelle and Elvis! She loves when they kiss her and she actually tries to put them in her mouth. I think the dogs do very well with her even though they kiss her directly in the mouth.

Eliza is now sitting like a champ as you can see in the video! She has also developed a new skill that hopefully I will catch on video this week! I hope you all enjoy her as much as we do.
